Our living room wall redo is DONE and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We installed a vertical shiplap wall and painted it a rustic black.

Quick confession: I have never installed shiplap or decorated with a black wall but it was way easier than I expected and so fun to decorate.

Who else loves artichokes?! Artichokes have always been one of my FAVORITE foods to enjoy. I’ve been enjoying them A LOT lately and I usually steam them, but I tried ROASTING artichokes and I am so glad I did! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Okay, let me give you the deets. These artichokes are stuffed with shallots, garlic, lemon and herbs and roasted to create and caramelized and woodsy flavor. Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Most of our weekend was spent getting the garden ready 🙌🏻 We are almost done putting the fence up and we moved most of our seedlings outside to harden before transplanting. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
AND I also did a little harvesting off my tea garden! I love having fresh herbs in the house and I am so grateful that I can grow my own food. There is a link in my bio if you want to make your own tea garden.

It’s Saturday! Pull your sourdough starter out of the fridge today so you can make sourdough pancakes tomorrow!

If you don’t already have a sourdough starter - or - you have one but are super new to sourdough - no worries! I’ve got all the info on S2S but here are my TOP tips for a successful sourdough starter:
1️⃣ You only need two ingredients to create a sourdough starter - flour and water. Some say rye flour is best, but you can use all purpose. Try using potato water if you like it really sour.
2️⃣ Store your sourdough starter in a non-reactive container such as a glass jar or stoneware crock - always with a loose fitting lid!
3️⃣ Sourdough starters are active organisms so regular feeding is necessary to keep it sustained. When starting out feed your sourdough twice a day and keep it in a warm area to really activate the yeast.
4️⃣ Once your starter is established, feed it by readying it for baking. Each feeding requires discarding part of the starter, but you can use it for baking! It’s not necessary, but I think it’s way better than throwing it out!
5️⃣ The method for feeding and maintaining a sourdough starter can be different from person to person. Find the feeding schedule and method that works for you!
6️⃣ Use your sourdough regularly and experiment without fear. If your sourdough starter get sluggish or even moldy, you can almost always bring it back to life!
