My office space is finally completed! I have been working to upgrade my office into a finished, balanced space that I can comfortably work in. I chose to bring a natural, inspiring vibe together with gold accents.
Last week I wrote about redoing my office desk. It was my first attempt at refinishing anything and was the first step towards upgrading my office space. My office had been lacking decor and frankly was quite boring. With my desk finished it had already drawn me to use the space more so I was excited to get everything else into place.
I researched aka shopped for the right pieces to bring the natural, balanced vibe I was going for. There are a few things that are important to me when creating a space that I will be working in, it needs to have the right energy and influence me to get work done!
To the left of my desk is a window, one of the reasons I placed my desk there is so I have natural light while working. Natural light is so important for a workspace. I think most of us have experienced working all day with no sight of the outside world, not fun or healthy. To accentuate the natural vibe I added a float frame with some leaves and buttercup flowers from my back yard. That way when the gloom comes (which it will I do live in Oregon after all) I will still have a little piece of green when I look at my window.
When redoing my office desk, I spray painted the handles with a metallic gold. I used the same color to paint my pen holder. I found this pen holder at a sale for a $1, talk about a deal. Before I painted it, it was a boring pen holder but after, it became a decor piece that ties into the rest of the space.

I bring notebooks with me wherever I go. I need to write down my thoughts because if I don’t I will forget (seriously ask anyone who knows me well, my memory sucks). I usually have two, one for taking with me and one for thoughts while I am working at home. The notebooks from Design Design, Inc are adorable. The unicorn notebook was an obvious choice because well, I am a unicorn (and guess what…so are you!)
Another way I brought the natural theme together is a vase full of greens and flowers. I have anywhere from two to five different vases of flowers at any time in my house. Fresh greens and flowers make me happy and calm so I don’t skimp in this area. I used a DIY vase that I made when I redecorated for Spring and it ties in perfectly with the gold accents.
Above my desk are two things I chose because they inspire me to work hard and remember my goals. The first is my vision board. I posted about making vision boards back in January and how important it is to put it somewhere you will see it every day. So I put mine right above my desk so that it continues to inspire me and remind me of what I am working towards.
The second is a printable I made that is straight to the point - “Get shit done” because we all need that reminder from time to time! I used these beautiful watercolor flowers from Fox & Hazel. She has tons of great graphics and printables.
I am a big believer in energy. You have to surround yourself with things that give off great energy so that your own isn’t off. I focused on that when upgrading my office space and now I am ready to get shit done.

Looks great! I should bring you down to Tucson to help me redo my new office!
