Frosted Flake Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups crushed frosted flakes (6 cups un-crushed)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° 
  • Mix shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla in an electric mixer until mixed well. 
  • Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix well. 
  • Pour about 6 cups of frosted flakes in a medium bowl. 
  • Using your hands crush the frosted flakes until small bits. 
  • Fold crushed frosted flakes into cookie dough until evenly combined. 
  • Drop medium sized mounds of dough onto ungreased baking sheet. 
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown or until top is no longer shiny. 
  • Let cool for a few minutes before removing from pan.
