Homemade Bloody Maria

Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes or 20 oz. can peeled tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce
  • 4-5 dashes of hot sauce
  • 2 teaspoons horseradish sauce
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Tequila

Rim Salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • If using fresh tomatoes, blanch the tomatoes in simmering water for no more than 30 seconds. Plung in an ice bath and remove the skins and cores.
  • In a blender, combine tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, horseradish sauce. Blend until smooth. 
  • Add lime juice, celery salt, and cayenne pepper. Blend until smooth.
  • Combine all the spices for the rim salt in a bowl and mix. Run a lime over the rim of the glass and dip in the rim salt.
  • To serve, pour 1 shot of tequila over ice. Pour Bloody Maria mix over and stir to combine. Garnish with celery stalk, pepper, lime wedge and olives.
